600 Brits may have the same dad

first_img3 News 11 April 2012The founder of a British fertility clinic, whose work was once compared to ‘Beelzebub’, may have fathered up to 600 children. Bertold Wiesner, a biologist, ran the London-based clinic from 1943 until the mid-1960s. Around 1500 babies were conceived, and tests suggest several hundred of them could have been from sperm donated by Dr Wiesner himself. Barrister David Gollancz found out he was born from a sperm donor in 1965, and only found out decades later Dr Wiesner was his biological father. He has since been in contact with 11 half-siblings, including Barry Stevens, whose research into the clinic suggests Dr Wiesner fathered as many as 600, reports the Daily Mail.http://www.3news.co.nz/600-Brits-may-have-the-same-dad/tabid/417/articleID/250034/Default.aspx#ixzz1riPvg4Hklast_img read more
