Photo: Prothom AloLocals have reconstructed a protection embankment on the east bank of the Chhoto Jamuna river that broke on Thursday night and inundated the Ikartara area of Naogaon’s Sadar upazila.Hundreds of locals repaired the 30-feet broken embankment in 10 hours. The embankment is just two kilometres away from Naogaon town.Locals and people’s representatives in the locality said the embankment became vulnerable since a rise in the river’s water level. Finally, the water of the river broke into the locality around 5:00am on Thursday.Sensing possible danger, hundreds of people rushed there to save the embankment and they repaired the broken barrage.last_img read more
