Idina Menzel It’s not just a track on her brand new album! Tony winner Idina Menzel took to Twitter on September 23 to announce that she is engaged to Aaron Lohr. The news follows Menzel’s self-titled record release and filming for her Beaches remake. “As if this week couldn’t get any better I have wonderful news,” Menzel tweeted. “My man and I are engaged! We are so happy. It’s a beautiful time.”Menzel and Lohr bought a house together last August; the Los Angeles Times reported that they splashed out $2.675 million on a gorgeous 4,708-square-foot Mediterranean-style home in Encino. The pair also shared some racy scenes in the Public Theater’s 2005 production See What I Wanna See and appeared together in the 2005 film version of the Tony-winning musical Rent. Menzel has a son with her ex-husband, fellow Rent star Taye Diggs.Menzel soared to stage fame as Maureen in the original stage version Rent. She garnered a 1996 Tony nomination for that role and won a 2004 Tony for her performance as Elphaba in Wicked. Her screen roles include Enchanted, Kissing Jessica Stein, the TV hit Glee and the voice of Elsa in Disney’s wildly popular Frozen. Menzel returned to Broadway in 2014 as the star of If/Then and earned a Tony nomination for her performance. Lohr’s off-Broadway credits include Bare: A Pop Opera and Radiant Baby. Seven hundred runners took part in the first Merkur Ran4lifestyle night race this Friday night, running through the most beautiful parts of Sarajevo city.The Merkur Run4lifestyle includes 10 km long route through the city center of BiH’s capital Sarajevo.The mayor of Sarajevo Abdulah Skaka welcomed the participants and the director of the Merkur BH Insurance Borislav Doder marked the start of the race and handed the prizes to winners.The first place in category of men runners was taken by Osman Junuzovic (32: 31.00) and in category of women runners the first place was taken by BiH famous athlete runner Lucija Kimani (40:45.11).In his speech Skaka emphasized that the City of Sarajevo has been a member of the World Health Organization Network since 2007, whereby health is promoted as the greatest individual and common good.“It is important to encourage everything that is in function of healthy and active life. To be successful in your mission, it is necessary to unite forces, we can do much more together on the physical and social dimensions,” Skaka said.All participants received T-shirt, fluorescent bracelet, refreshments and various sponsorship gifts when passing through the finish line and winners received medals.A good entertainment was provided by the local DJ performers, and the city lights in the night gave a special atmosphere in which runners so far had no chance to participate.This is the first night race in the history of Sarajevo as well as the one in which Sarajevo’s mayor joined. Huge enthusiasm followed this sporty and socially responsible project, and this is witnessed by the numerous audiences who roamed the streets.
