The Operation will move into the main phase of its tasking commencing on 8 November and concludes on 7 December 2013.[mappress]Press Release, November 11, 2013; Image: RAN November 11, 2013 Share this articlelast_img read more

Phish Unveils Pro-Shot Video Of Albany’s Tour Opener “Twenty Years Later” [Watch]

first_imgLast Tuesday night, October 16th, Phish opened their 2018 fall tour with a two-night affair at Albany, NY’s Times Union Center. A highlight of Albany’s tour opening second set, included a 15-minute “Twenty Years Later”, as the quartet dove head first into dark and evil Phish territory.Flowing out of a “Piper” jam, the ominous opening notes of “20 Years Later” crept forward. This marked the third rendition of the Joy cut this year, but was easily the most interesting of the trio, weighing in as the improvisational highlight of Phish’s tour opener second set. Many fans subscribe to the notion that Phish is at their best when they’re at their darkest, and this “20YL” did nothing to dissuade that thought process. Over the course of the song’s nearly 15 minutes, the band built schizoid tension over eerie synth swells, bass rumbles, and feedback loops, resulting in a powerful display of quintessentially “evil” Phish that’s surely worth revisiting later.Today, Phish has shared a pro-shot video of the standout jam, so people everywhere can enjoy it in all its glory, with Chris Kuroda‘s mesmerizing light rig as a backdrop.
